Prop Firm Journey

Add a challenge, follow each prop-firm phase, and connect Accounts or payouts only when they are relevant.

Prop Firm Journey keeps a challenge, its phases, its linked Accounts, and the rules you want to follow in one place.

Prop firms change their programs often, so trackmyprop does not pretend to provide a permanent official rule library. You create and maintain the templates yourself.

Record challenge purchases

Choose Add in the sidebar, then search for or choose Challenge. You can also press Command-K, choose Create, then choose Challenge. Select or search for the Prop Firm, then enter the Challenge details and save. The firm picker and details transition inside the same Create surface. Press Enter or Right Arrow to continue from a selected result. Choose the visible back action, press Left Arrow, or press Backspace to return one step without losing the firm query or unfinished Challenge draft. Press Escape to close the complete Create journey. Account and payout linking stay out of creation so a new Challenge can be recorded before its trading Account exists or it reaches the funded stage.

  • Use the Multiplier slider to choose any number from 1 to 20, or use ×1, ×5, ×10, ×15, and ×20 as shortcuts. Each challenge is saved separately so it can progress, become inactive, and receive payouts independently.
  • In Transactions, Status records the current stage: Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3, or Funded.
  • When you move Status forward, a phase passed prompt shows the full path for that challenge and offers to add the Account your firm issued for the new stage. Choose Add … account to open the Challenge with the right phase ready to link, or Skip for now and link it later from the Challenge. The Account of the phase you leave stays linked to that phase.
  • Active records whether the challenge is still available. Turning it off preserves the current stage and changes the stage marker to the negative color, so an inactive Phase 2 challenge means it was breached during Phase 2. Turn it on again if the account is restored.

Challenges created before phases were tracked separately, with a single linked Account, get that Account placed in its phase automatically after an update, when the match is unambiguous.

The detail sheet's Linked Accounts section shows each Account's name, platform, phase, and progress. Completed phases show Passed and remain linked for historical stats and payouts. The new phase shows Current. Select the Challenge in the sidebar to review the combined history, or choose an Account beneath it to review a single phase.

Click a challenge row or pinned card in Overview or Transactions to open its detail sheet. The open challenge stays highlighted. Click it again to close the sheet, or click another challenge to switch directly to it. Closing with Cancel or Escape also clears the highlight.

Choose Add in the sidebar, then choose Payout. You can also open the command menu, choose Create, then choose Payout. Search the funded-Challenge list and select the Challenge that received the payout. To keep the payout independent, choose Continue without a challenge instead. Then record its Prop Firm, amount, method, and date inside the same Create surface. Returning to the Challenge list restores your previous query and unfinished Payout draft.

Payouts are not linked while a Challenge is being created. Once the Challenge is funded, either open it from Transactions and add the payout there, or use Create → Payout and choose it from the funded-Challenge list. A payout stays independent until you choose a link, and deleting its Challenge does not delete the payout.

When a multiplier creates several Challenges, save them first and link each funded Challenge to the correct payout individually.

Account linking also happens after creation. Open the existing Challenge from Transactions, then connect the trading Account once it has been issued and added to trackmyprop. The existing Challenge detail sheet remains the place for this post-creation setup.

Create a rule template

  1. In the Track sidebar, expand Prop Firm Journey and choose Rule templates.
  2. Choose New template.
  3. Add the Prop Firm, program, Account size, fees, and trading style.
  4. Add each phase and its rules.
  5. For every rule, choose how trackmyprop should handle it:
    • Automatic uses Account data when the calculation is reliable.
    • Observed uses the data trackmyprop has and labels the result as an observation.
    • Manual check leaves the decision to you.
  6. Optionally add the Prop Firm's rule page as the source URL. Turn on I checked this source now only after you have confirmed the current rules.
  7. Save the template.

You can edit a template later. An edit changes the template for future use; it does not silently change journeys that already started.

Changing a source URL clears its previous check date unless you explicitly confirm the new source. This avoids presenting an old check as proof for a different page.

Start a journey

  1. Under Prop Firm Journey, choose Journeys.
  2. Choose Start journey. If you have no templates yet, choose Create rule template first, save it, then choose Start journey.
  3. Select a rule template.
  4. Select the Account issued for the current phase.
  5. Choose Start journey.

trackmyprop saves a snapshot of the template at that moment. This keeps the journey's history intact if the template changes later.

Read rule evidence

The journey card uses careful language:

  • Met means the available data reached the rule threshold.
  • In progress means a target or minimum-day rule has not been reached yet.
  • Within observed range means the data trackmyprop can see remains inside the limit.
  • Near observed limit means the observed value is close to the limit.
  • Observed breach means the available data crossed the limit.
  • Manual check means trackmyprop cannot decide the rule for you.
  • Unavailable means the Account, threshold, or needed history is missing.

Daily and overall loss observations can use closed Trades when broker intraday equity is unavailable. The card says when this is the case. It is not a guarantee that the Prop Firm considers the Account compliant.

Automatic rules read each Account's own results by trading day (the CME session for futures; see Trading days and periods) and leave out trades still in their quote currency. Trades with no Account link do not count toward any rule. Pinned challenge cards on Overview and Transactions show their loading state until trading days are known.

Change rules on a live journey

Choose Change rules on the journey and select the corrected template. Add a short reason when rules changed.

This creates a new effective revision. Earlier revisions stay in the journey history.

Set up an older challenge

Older challenges may show Setup needed. Choose Set up rules and attach one of your templates. If you have no templates yet, the card offers Create rule template so you can create one first. The existing challenge ledger and linked Account stay in place.

Plan costs and payouts

Use Estimate funding cost on a Rule Template or evaluation Journey. A funded Journey instead foregrounds Project payouts. Both actions open the same Journey planning view, where you can switch between:

  • Cost to fund — reuses the Account size, one-time challenge fee, phase targets, and compatible loss limits from the selected template or saved rule revision.
  • Payout projection — reuses only the Account size. You must choose the profit split, monthly return, time horizon, and whether profits are withdrawn or reinvested.

Planning scenarios never change saved rules or live rule evidence. The cost simulator also asks you to choose the drawdown type because Journey does not store static, trailing, or end-of-day trailing behavior yet. Rules the simulator cannot represent are listed before you calculate.

The Expected cost and 90th-percentile spend use the simulated pass rate, without a fifty-attempt ceiling. The latter is the budget for a 90% chance of at least one success under the chosen assumptions. If no simulated attempts pass, these estimates remain unavailable rather than showing a made-up budget. More simulations or different assumptions may be needed.

Trading-day estimates count each day started, including a partial final day in each phase. Sample equity curves start at Trade 0, the initial balance, and keep counting across long paths.

The cost simulator's Challenge rules card sets Fee billed (Once per attempt or Monthly) and Minimum trading days. A monthly plan is charged once per started month of 21 trading days in each simulated attempt, and minimum trading days are simulated. Apex presets simulate the evaluation once; the funded account is not traded. Fees and costs stay in the firm's currency (FTMO in EUR) and are never converted.

Check before running lists what the simulator does not model, such as consistency rules and the drawdown lock, which stays off until a preset's values are verified. The 90th-percentile spend and the cost histogram are sampled from simulated attempts.

Money in Prop Firm analytics

  • Fees, activation fees, expenses and payouts count on their own dates. An activation fee counts once the challenge is funded, on the fee date.
  • Expenses linked to no challenge show on their day but stay out of the monthly net; the tooltip names them.
  • The Monthly costs & payouts card, the firm bars, the firm table and the firm dialog count money dated in the selected period, so they add up to the KPI strip.
  • The Overview calendar uses the same costs as the Performance (ROI) card.

Analytics scope

  • Journeys follow Account scope but always use the journey's lifetime.
  • Rule templates ignore Account and date filters.
  • Analytics follows both the selected Accounts and the selected date range.

Account and date scope remain available in the global sidebar controls.
