Connections and accounts
Manage your live connections and imports, the accounts under them, and what is kept when you pause, remove or delete one.
A connection is a broker login or an import you manage in trackmyprop. Accounts are the trading accounts under it: one Tradovate login can hold several accounts. Each account can be tracked on its own, linked to a challenge phase and reviewed in your journal.
Find your connections
- Live Connections lists connections that sync from your broker. Risk Settings sits inside it in the sidebar.
- Manual Imports lists accounts you created from export files. See Import trades.
Switch between Card view to scan health and totals and List view for a denser table. Search and the platform filters narrow the list. Open a connection to see its accounts, with their status, balance, linked challenge and Enabled switch. Back returns you to the list as you left it.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Connected | Syncing normally |
| Syncing | A sync is running now |
| Rate limited | The broker asked trackmyprop to slow down. Wait a moment, then sync again. |
| Reauth needed | Your broker sign-in ended. Open the connection's settings and choose Reconnect. |
| Error | The last sync failed. Open the connection's settings to read the message. |
| Disabled | The connection is turned off |
| Manual | An import. It only changes when you import a new file. |
Keep accounts in sync
Live connections refresh their trade history every 15 minutes by default. To change that, open Settings → Appearance and set Auto-sync interval to 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes.
To sync right away, choose Sync in the top right for every connection, or Sync now on one connection.
Manage a connection
Open a connection's actions menu, or choose Open settings:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sync now | Starts a fresh sync of that connection |
| Enabled switch | Pauses or resumes the connection without deleting it. While it is off, its accounts are hidden. |
| Custom name, Reporting timezone, Reporting currency | Change them in settings, then choose Save changes |
| Refresh accounts | Looks for accounts you opened at Tradovate or NinjaTrader after connecting |
| Enable all accounts | Turns every account under the connection back on |
| Reconnect | Signs in again after Broker session ended. Saved accounts, history and challenge links stay. |
| Delete connection | See Delete a connection |
Choose Manage connections to select several connections and Sync selected or Delete selected. In List view with search and filters cleared, you can also drag connections into your own order.
Set the reporting timezone
The Reporting timezone sets the trading day for CFD and forex accounts on that connection. Enter a name such as America/New_York or Europe/London. An offset such as +02:00 is not accepted. Clear the field to remove it.
Review an account
Open an account to see its balance, statistics and history. Statistics come from the trade history saved on your Mac, so they work offline. They refresh after each sync or import. If they cannot refresh, choose Retry.
An unknown balance shows a dash, never $0. Percentage return appears only when a starting balance is known. Trades still in their quote currency are left out of totals, and the statistics say how many.
Today's P&L
Each account shows Today's P&L beside its balance, after trading fees. Open-position P&L is shown separately.
"Today" follows each account's trading day: the CME session for futures, which resets at 17:00 Chicago time; the broker's day for CFD and forex accounts when known; otherwise midnight in the timezone chosen in the sidebar. Changing your journal's date range does not change it.
- Awaiting sync means today's history is not confirmed yet. It does not mean zero.
- Partial means some of today's results may still be missing.
- A dash means the account currency is not confirmed, or the accounts use different currencies. trackmyprop never converts between currencies here.
- DXtrade accounts show Not available yet.
Live, demo and manual accounts
An account from a live connection and the same account imported from a file stay separate, even with the same account number. Live data and file data never mix.
Live and Demo describe the broker environment, not how data arrives. An import is not a demo account. Older accounts that cannot be classified show Unclassified or Unknown instead of a guess.
Link accounts to challenges
Each challenge phase should point at the account you traded it on. When your prop firm gives you a new account for phase 2 or funded, link that new account to the new phase.
Open the account, then use Linked challenge to link or change the challenge. To jump to it, open the Linked challenge menu and choose Go to challenge. See Prop Firm Journey.
Select an account or challenge
Use the account switcher in the sidebar to focus every page on part of your data. A challenge selects all its linked accounts. Choose an account indented under a challenge to see only that account's trades, equity and targets.
Balances show in each account's own currency. A challenge whose accounts use different currencies shows Mixed currencies.
Remove one account
- Open the connection, then open the account's actions menu.
- Choose Remove account, review the message, and confirm.
The account leaves trackmyprop, but its history, challenge links and payouts are kept, and nothing changes at your broker. Refresh accounts will not add it back. To restore it, reconnect and select it during setup. If the account is in a copier group, remove it from the group first.
Delete a connection
Open the connection's settings and choose Delete connection, or use Delete in its actions menu.
By default, deleting removes the broker link but keeps the account history on your Mac, including challenge phases and payouts. Linked accounts show Connection removed · Link saved. Add the same broker accounts again later and those links come back.
Tick Also delete data from this connection only to remove its trades, balances and accounts as well. That cannot be undone.
On platforms that show Coming soon, a deleted connection cannot be added again yet. Use Reconnect instead of deleting when a sign-in ends.
Retained and deleted data
Accounts you kept after deleting their connection appear on the Data page and under Retained data in the account switcher. Choose View in Trade journal to open the journal with only those trades.
When accounts under a connection are deleted, Data shows a row such as "2 accounts deleted" with Restore. Restoring brings back the accounts your broker still lists, and their history returns with the next sync.
Delete all trading data on the Data page removes every trade, trading account, balance, import and broker sync history. It keeps challenges, payouts, expenses, notes, certificates and copier history. Type delete all trading data to confirm.
Permanent deletes are blocked while an affected account leads or follows a copier group. Resolve the group's open positions and orders in Trade Copier, then remove the account from the group. With cloud sync on, deleted trades and notes are also removed from your other Macs when they next sync.
If something goes wrong
Open the connection's settings and choose Reconnect. For Tradovate, NinjaTrader and cTrader, your browser opens so you can sign in. For other platforms, enter your current login details in the form. Your accounts, history and challenge links stay in place.
Choose Sync now first. If it is still missing, open the connection's settings and choose Reset sync state under Troubleshooting. The next sync fetches your broker history from the start and skips trades you already have.
Your broker or prop firm controls access per login. Ask them to enable access for trackmyprop on your login, then sync again.
Fees are not available for Rithmic trades, so their P&L is before fees. Missing fees are shown as unavailable, not as zero.
