Import issues
Fix common manual import problems.
Manual import problems usually come from the wrong file, the wrong account, or the wrong timezone.
The file does not upload
- Make sure the file is a broker export, not a screenshot or PDF.
- Search for your broker first: the import dialog shows its export steps and which columns to rename.
- Use Generic CSV when the broker is not listed; the file format is the same closed-trade CSV.
- Export again from the broker if the file was edited manually.
Tradovate asks for Performance.csv or Fills.csv
A new Tradovate bundle import needs Performance.csv and Fills.csv: Performance pairs the trades, and Fills gives exact times and the account. Add Cash History for fees. A re-import into an existing Account can leave out Fills.csv.
The import is refused when a Fills or Account Balance file holds more than one account, or two files of the same type are chosen. A malformed row names the file, row and column.
If a bundle does not parse, choose Choose other files and select a fresh export. You can select the same files again after using this action.
Account ID mismatch
If trackmyprop says the file belongs to a different account, stop and export from the correct broker account. Do not force the import into the wrong account.
Duplicate import
If you upload the same export again, trackmyprop skips it. For newer history, export a fresh file from the broker and import that. Overlapping Tradovate exports never double-count: each round trip becomes one trade, and a later Cash History fills in missing fees without losing notes.
Re-sync checks duplicates when you save and reports the number of trades actually added. If every row is already present, no new trades are added.
The report needs closed-trade columns
The closed-trade CSV needs Open Time, Close Time, Open Price, Close Price, Symbol, Side, Quantity and Net Profit after fees. Rename your broker's columns to these names if they differ. A fill-only report cannot provide a complete trade result. Export closed trades instead of fills, and choose CSV rather than Excel or HTML. See Closed-trade CSV files.
An older import cannot be deleted
Older imports may lack a reliable link between the file and its stored data. trackmyprop refuses deletion when it cannot identify the import's data safely. Other imports and Account links remain intact.
Time looks wrong
Check the reporting timezone before saving the import. Broker exports often use the broker server timezone, not your local timezone. The preview shows the trades in the timezone you picked. For Tradovate, the import suggests the timezones that match Fills.csv and warns when your choice disagrees; the timezone applies only to trades Fills.csv does not cover.
Fees show as unavailable
Trades without fee data are labelled before fees: they show gross P&L with fees unavailable. For Tradovate, import a Cash History export that covers those dates; it fills in the fees of trades already imported.
