Economic calendar

See this week's market-moving events, filter them by impact, currency or type, and share one day or the whole week.

The economic calendar lists this week's scheduled releases, such as rate decisions, jobs reports and inflation data, with their impact and expected figures. Check it before a session so a high-impact release does not catch an open position by surprise.

Find the events that matter

  1. Open Tools → Economic Calendar.
  2. Choose an impact: All, High, Medium, Low or Holiday.
  3. Choose Filters to narrow the list by Currencies or Event types, such as Inflation, Employment or Central Bank.
  4. Type in Search events… to find an event by name.

The summary at the top counts the events left by your filters, how many are high impact, and how long until the next one.

Switch between Kanban view, one column per day, and List view with the buttons next to the search. Your view, filters and time format are remembered. Reset settings appears in the toolbar when you have changed something, and puts everything back.

The calendar covers the current week only.

Set the time zone and time format

Event times follow the app's time zone. To change it, open the date switcher in the sidebar and choose Timezone, then pick Local, Exchange, New York, London, UTC or search for a city.

To show times as 24-hour or 12-hour, open Filters and choose Time format.

Read an event

Choose an event to open its details:

  • The impact, currency and how long until it is released
  • The time in your time zone and in UTC
  • Forecast, Previous and Actual, with — until a figure is out
  • A Source link when one is available

In Kanban view, today is highlighted, a line marks the current time, and the next event is marked Next. Once an event is out, its actual figure turns green or red against the forecast.

The calendar does not refresh on its own while you watch a release. Choose Refresh calendar to load the latest figures.

Share a day or the week

  1. Choose the share button at the top right of the page.
  2. Under Choose a calendar period, pick Entire week or one day.
  3. Style the image, then choose Copy image, Save image or Share.

The image shows the events your filters and search leave on screen. A day image lists that day's events with any released figures. A week image groups the events by day and counts them by impact. Your time zone is printed on the image, so anyone reading it knows which times you mean.

Calendar images cannot carry a verification link, but you can add your own QR link. For every styling option, see Share cards.

Add the calendar to your Overview

The Economic calendar widget on the Overview shows this week as a timeline, with a countdown to the next event and an Open calendar link. The widget uses your Mac's own time zone and clock format, not the ones you set for the app.
